Rockin' To Richmond

After a very long day of errand running, housework, and a cranky baby - I had a delightful and treasured moment this evening.
I was rocking my son in my left arm and I had Isaac the Gray cat nuzzled up in my right arm and purring loudly into my ear. I also had Ceili the dog at my feet. The wind was blowing through the nursery window sending in a relieving cool breeze and Jeremiah and I had a deeply involved conversation about wookas and gogs.

On Saturday, September 17 2005 at 3:00 p.m. friends and family all gathered at the Lilly Pad to celebrate Jeremiah's 1st Birthday!

The stage was set

Mama baked four cakes!

RaRa made my little chocolate cake

I'm just mad about chocolate, see my red eyes?

My buddy, Jake helped me open my presents

Here are a couple of photos of my family and friends

It was such a great day, after the party I was pretty tired so I relaxed with a good book. Thanks everyone!

Jeremiah has been a very busy boy!

He's learning more words such as:

Toast
Walk = wooka
Book = booka
Bath

He says, Mmm Hmmm and he dances to the Uh Ohhhhhh song (you have to be a fan of Ceili Rain to even guess what I'm referring to).

Here are a few shots of my boy in action!

Ra Ra and Jeremiah's matching sunglasses

Storytime!

What should we cook for dinner?

Mmmmm Sweet Potatoes!

Hope nobody finds me under here!

Hello family and friends! Welcome to our little slice of pie on the internet. Here is where you can find updates on our little bullfrog, Jeremiah as well as pictures and editorials of other family events.

Before I get to some pictures and captions I want to thank you for all the support you have given us. We have needed it and we will continue to need it. Joshua and I are touched that Jeremiah's adoption is such a glad occasion for everyone. We've all been waiting so long.

So without further ado...

Jeremiah was a bullfrog

Wait...let's try that again....

Jeremiah was a bullfrog

Ahhh that's better.

Joshua and I adopted Jeremiah Macnider Davis on Tuesday August 30 (the official paperwork that says we are his parents will take a few months). We went to Social Services and signed a bunch of papers, received some information from when he was born and also received some pictures of him and his biological mother on the day he was born. Then we went to see Wills, Jeremiah's foster mother. She's a wonderful lady and full of stories. She took excellent care of our little bullfrog since he was two days old.

Jeremiah Macnider Davis
Born: September 19, 2004
He weighed 5 pounds and was 19 inches long.

Reading with Daddy
He really likes books - they taste so great!

On Saturday, September 3, Jeremiah took his first couple of steps. He was standing up at the fireplace and saw Isaac the Cat. He took off to try and catch him!

Words:

Kitty = khih khih
Dog = gog
Daddy = da
Mama = amah or ma ma ma
Uh Oh = uh-uh oh-oh

Yummy!

Jeremiah is cutting his 7th tooth, so crankiness abounds. He drinks 4 bottles a day and in between he eats yogurt, pears, tuna, cheese, cheerios, applesauce and boogers. Next week we are trying rice cakes, sweet potatoes, carrots, pasta and not so many boogers.

Shhh! Baby's Sleeping!

The baby is a light sleeper, I'm learning many tricks to keep in my back pocket on how to get him to sleep. We take a daily stroller ride in the afternoon and that relaxes him.

Until next time...We'll see you at the beach!
